Knicks Take Control Of NBA Finals After Record Game 4 Comeback

The New York Knicks are one win from an NBA title after overturning a 29-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

It was the kind of result that changes a series. San Antonio led 41-22 after the first quarter and had built a 76-49 half-time advantage, but New York flipped the rhythm after the break, holding the Spurs to just 30 second-half points and closing the game with enough poise to take a 3-1 Finals lead.

ESPN described it as the largest comeback in NBA Finals history, and the numbers underline why. The Spurs scored only 14 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth, while the Knicks kept finding enough offence through Jalen Brunson and enough defensive stops to drag the game back possession by possession.

Brunson led New York with 36 points, seven assists and three steals, carrying the Knicks through the pressure moments. Victor Wembanyama still filled the box score for San Antonio with 24 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks, but the Spurs will be left reviewing how such a dominant first half slipped away.
