Team England 3×3 squads step up Glasgow 2026 preparations in Belgrade

Team England’s 3×3 men’s and women’s squads are in Belgrade, Serbia, as preparations continue for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The camp, announced by Basketball England, runs from 22 June to 2 July and is being staged in association with BV Basketball Academy and international coach Bane Vukovic. The England groups are being hosted at Belgrade Arena by Partizan Belgrade.

It is another important step in England’s build-up to next summer’s Commonwealth Games, with the players set to train and scrimmage alongside Partizan’s 3×3 team and the Serbian national team. Basketball England said the squads will also receive support from leading coaches, including Kazakhstan 3×3 men’s head coach and professional 3×3 player Filip Pejovic.

The Belgrade stop follows a series of camps and competition opportunities arranged as part of the preparation plan, including activity in Manchester, Dublin, Sheffield and Bucharest.

England’s final shortlist has now been reduced to six women and six men. Four players, plus two reserves, will be selected for each official Commonwealth Games team.

The women’s shortlist is Marlee Ball, Shanice Beckford-Norton, Georgia Gayle, Cheridene Green, Katie Januszewska and Nina Rickards.

The men’s shortlist is Jamell Anderson, Veron Eze, Toto Fagbenle, Ashley Hamilton, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye and Evan Walshe.

Head coaches Sarah Chery-Hopkins and Julius Joseph MBE will continue assessing the groups before final selection, with physiotherapists Peter Thain and Ross Knevett and Team Manager/Basketball England 3×3 Development Manager Meehra Gorasia supporting the teams in Serbia.

The 3×3 competition at Glasgow 2026 is scheduled to run from 24 to 29 July at the Scottish Exhibition Campus. England qualified for the Games through a Home Nations tournament at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester and will head to Scotland looking to defend the gold and silver medals won in Birmingham four years ago.
