Jr. NBA 3v3 Final returns to Trafalgar Square

The Jr. NBA 3v3 Final returns to Trafalgar Square on Thursday 9 July, bringing London school basketball into one of the capital’s most recognisable public spaces.

The event will feature the top teams from London’s secondary schools after pupils in Years 9 and 10 from almost 350 schools competed through Area Finals.

Five boys’ teams and five girls’ teams have qualified for the Final, where they will compete for the 3v3 titles on a half-court format with one hoop.

London Marathon Events said more than 9,000 pupils are now regularly playing 3×3 as a result of the tournament, according to the event’s 2025 Impact Report. The 2026 edition also introduces a wheelchair basketball pathway, with four teams competing in the Finals.

A third court at Trafalgar Square will host selected primary school pupils from across London for coached 3×3 sessions led by the NBA London Coaches Programme.

The day is free for spectators and will also include interactive fan activities, NBA arcade-style games, photo opportunities with the Larry O’Brien Trophy and an appearance from an NBA team mascot.

After the schools Finals, NBA 3X will stage a mixed elite 3×3 creator tournament in collaboration with Foot Locker. Confirmed captains include DJ AG, Darkest Man, Harry Pinero, Elz the Witch and The Royal Guard.

The girls’ finalists are Waldegrave School, Harris Lowe Academy Willesden, Brampton Manor Academy, Westminster Academy and Riverside School. The boys’ finalists are Turing House School, Queens Park Community School, St Bonaventure’s, Lilian Baylis Technology School and Dagenham Park Church of England School.
