Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of British-Canadian guard Matteus Case on a one-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
The 6ft 5in guard joins Bristol for his second professional campaign after splitting 2025/26 between Vitoria SC in Portugal and KS Tirana in Albania. Case averaged 6.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in Portugal before posting 10.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest in Albania.
Case was born in Canada but holds British citizenship, giving Bristol another useful domestic-linked backcourt option. He represented Canada at the 2017 FIBA U16 AmeriCup before moving through the US college system with Providence and William & Mary.
His senior season at William & Mary gives a strong clue to the role Bristol are targeting. Case averaged 8.2 points and 2.5 rebounds, appeared in all 32 games, and started each of the Tribe’s final 14 contests. He led the team in scoring six times and topped the assists chart five times across the campaign.
Case said one of his offseason goals was to get to the SLB, adding that conversations with Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas and Bristol’s style of play helped sell the move. He described himself as a player who can shoot, defend, handle the ball and bring energy in whatever role is needed.
Kapoulas said Bristol had been tracking Case “for a while”, pointing to his size, athleticism and ability to impact both ends of the floor.
For the Flyers, this is a smart roster addition with upside: Case has overseas experience, NCAA pedigree and domestic eligibility, while Bristol get another guard who should fit their pace-and-energy identity.
