Caledonia Gladiators add Jadyn Weltz as first new women’s signing

Jadyn Weltz signs for Caledonia Gladiators

Caledonia Gladiators have announced Jadyn Weltz as their first new women’s team signing of the season.

Weltz is a 5ft 7in guard from Ontario, Canada, and joins the Gladiators after completing her college career in the America East Conference.

She began her NCAA career at Binghamton University, where she started 21 of 30 games as a freshman and earned places on the America East All-Rookie and All-Defensive teams. Caledonia also noted that she led the conference in steals per game during that first season.

Weltz then built on that early impact with a stronger sophomore year, starting all 31 games and improving across major statistical categories. She later transferred to the University of Vermont for her final season of eligibility.

At Vermont, Weltz helped the Catamounts win the America East title and reach the NCAA tournament, adding championship experience to her profile before making the move to Scotland.

Caledonia said Weltz has been recruited for her all-round game, including scoring, playmaking and defensive intensity. The club expects her to bring energy and versatility to Donnie MacDonald’s roster as the Gladiators continue preparing for the new campaign.

The signing gives Caledonia’s women’s programme its first new addition of the summer and another backcourt piece as the squad takes shape.
