Caledonia Gladiators have added American forward Jay Nagle to their men’s roster ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
The 6ft 8in forward arrives in Scotland following a 2025/26 campaign with Danish side Svendborg Rabbits, where Caledonia said he averaged 10.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Nagle brings experience from multiple European leagues, with previous spells in Denmark, Germany, Greece and Georgia. The Vacaville, California native began his college career at UC Santa Barbara, spending four seasons with the Gauchos before transferring to Idaho State for his senior campaign.
After college, Nagle started his professional career with Tkibuli Orbi in Georgia in 2023/24. His performances there were followed by a place on the Sacramento Kings’ California Classic roster at NBA Summer League in July 2024.
Caledonia said Nagle will link up with his new team-mates in East Kilbride as preparations continue for the new season.
The signing also adds another storyline to the club’s opening home league fixture, with Gladiators due to face new franchise Liverpool Basketball at Playsport, East Kilbride, on Sunday 20 September at 4pm.
For Gladiators, Nagle gives the frontcourt added size and a player with recent European production as they look to build momentum before competitive action begins.
