Caledonia Gladiators have added 6ft 3in forward MJ Johnson to Donnie MacDonald’s roster ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.

Johnson, a Chicago native, will make her professional debut with the Gladiators after a college career that included spells at Texas A&M, Ball State and George Mason.

Her time at Ball State included being part of the programme’s 2025 MAC Regular Season and Tournament title double, as well as a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Caledonia highlighted Johnson’s size and versatility as key additions to the roster. George Mason head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis previously described her as a dynamic post player who can stretch the floor, finish around the rim and protect the paint.

Gladiators head coach Donnie MacDonald said Johnson brings added inside presence, while also pointing to her personality and potential impact in the locker room.

The signing gives Caledonia another frontcourt option as the club continues to shape its women’s squad for the new SLB season.
