Caledonia Gladiators have added another experienced guard to their 2026/27 roster, confirming the signing of Christian Keeling ahead of the new Super League Basketball season.
Keeling’s move brings him back to Scottish basketball, where he began his professional career with Glasgow Rocks in December 2020. Caledonia’s announcement noted that he made an immediate impact on debut, scoring a team-high 26 points after arriving straight from a 10-day quarantine period and meeting his new teammates on game day.
The American guard built his college career at Charleston Southern and North Carolina, finishing with 1,878 points and 692 rebounds. His scoring record and Big South honours helped launch a professional career that has since taken him across Europe.
Since leaving the Rocks, Keeling has played in Georgia, Denmark, North Macedonia, Sweden and Bulgaria, most recently representing Helsinki Seagulls in Finland’s top division. Caledonia say he arrives with extensive European experience and scoring punch for Jonny Bunyan’s squad.
The signing also reunites Keeling with familiar faces. Caledonia said he previously played alongside head coach Bunyan during his Glasgow Rocks spell, adding another connection as the Gladiators continue shaping their roster for the new campaign.
Fans may not have to wait long to see him in action. Caledonia’s announcement points to their fixture against Liverpool Basketball at Playsport, East Kilbride, on Sunday 20 September at 4pm — a notable game as Liverpool prepare for their debut league outing as the new franchise enters the top flight.
For the Gladiators, Keeling adds proven scoring and British basketball familiarity. For the league, his return gives another early-season storyline as Caledonia and Liverpool both look to make statements in the opening weeks.
