Great Britain U16 Men Edged by Bosnia and Herzegovina in Overtime

Great Britain U16 EuroBasket action from FIBA.

Great Britain’s U16 men saw their FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026 Division B quarter-final run halted by Bosnia and Herzegovina after an overtime battle in Skopje.

FIBA reported that Bosnia and Herzegovina came through 83-73 in a game that featured 18 lead changes and needed an extra period to separate the teams.

GB were firmly in the contest through a tight fourth quarter, but Bosnia and Herzegovina took control in overtime and closed out the result to move into the semi-finals.

Nathan Muleba led Great Britain with a standout individual performance, finishing with 26 points and 15 rebounds. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alem Elezovic scored 28 points with 9 rebounds and 4 steals, while Pavle Koprivica added 22 points and 11 boards.

The result ended GB’s promotion push at the quarter-final stage, but the performance still underlined the competitiveness of the group against one of the tournament’s semi-finalists.

Why it matters

GB youth results are an important part of the British basketball pathway picture. Narrow games at European level give young players valuable experience and provide a useful measure of where the next generation sits against continental opposition.

Muleba’s production was a clear bright spot, while the wider campaign gives coaches and supporters another reference point for the development of the U16 group.
