Leicester Riders will host Liverpool Basketball in a pre-season fixture at Mattioli Arena on Friday 11 September.
The game is scheduled for 7.30pm and will give Riders supporters an early look at the club’s new-look roster before the 2026/27 Super League Basketball campaign.
It will also be one of the first chances for fans to see Liverpool Basketball, the new SLB franchise preparing for its first season in the league. Liverpool’s arrival has taken the men’s top flight to 10 teams and returned top-tier professional basketball to the city.
Leicester said the fixture will allow fans to see how the team is shaping up and watch the club’s new players in action. With both sides still building towards the competitive season, the game should offer a useful first look at rotations, roles and early chemistry.
Tickets are priced at £10 for all supporters. Leicester have also confirmed that the game is not included in season tickets, so season-ticket holders will need to purchase a separate ticket if they want to attend.
For UK basketball fans, the fixture carries added interest because it pairs an established SLB club with the league’s newest entrant. It should be a useful early marker for Liverpool’s preparations and another step in Leicester’s summer rebuild.
