Leicester Riders have confirmed six returning players for their 2026/27 women’s roster as head coach Nick Moodey continues to build for the new Super League Basketball season.

The club announced that Mercy Ademusayo, Louisa Gibbins, Alex Baker, Alex Shaw, Hannah Gray and Caitlin Ryan will all return. They join British star Katie Januszewska on the confirmed roster.

Ademusayo is set for a second season in Leicester after making the move into professional basketball from Northwestern University. Gibbins, a 6ft 1in forward, also returns for year two and arrives with additional summer experience from representing England and Great Britain in 3×3 competition.

Baker, a Charnwood Riders Academy graduate, is back for her second professional season after an injury-disrupted rookie campaign. Fellow Charnwood product Shaw is entering her fourth season with the Riders’ professional setup.

Gray and Ryan complete the returning group, giving Leicester continuity around a roster that is beginning to take shape before pre-season.

The announcement is a useful early marker for Riders supporters, particularly because of the British pathway thread running through the squad. With Januszewska already confirmed and several academy-linked players returning, Leicester’s 2026/27 group has a clear homegrown core to build around.
