Liverpool Basketball’s first Super League Basketball home game is now listed for Sunday 1 November against Manchester Basketball, following a change from the date promoted when season tickets went on sale.
The live SLB Championship schedule shows Manchester hosting Liverpool on Sunday 4 October at 4pm. The reverse fixture — Liverpool against Manchester at the M&S Bank Arena — is listed for Sunday 1 November at 4pm.[1]
M&S Bank Arena’s current event page also advertises the 1 November game as Liverpool’s first home appearance in the competition.[2]
What has changed?
The original Liverpool season-ticket announcement, published in August, named Manchester as the opponent for an opening home fixture on 4 October.[3] That information has now been superseded by the league’s live schedule and the arena’s current event listing.
Neither current source gives a reason for the change. Supporters should therefore use the live league schedule and the latest arena information rather than older promotional material when planning to attend.
The practical position is:
- Sunday 4 October, 4pm: Manchester Basketball v Liverpool Basketball
- Sunday 1 November, 4pm: Liverpool Basketball v Manchester Basketball
- Liverpool home venue: M&S Bank Arena
Manchester’s current schedule also lists Sunday’s 4 October meeting as a home fixture at the National Basketball Performance Centre.[4]
A longer wait for Liverpool’s home debut
The revised listing means Liverpool supporters must wait another four weeks to see the new SLB franchise on its own floor.
When that moment arrives, it will still represent an important return for the sport. Liverpool joined the league as its tenth club for 2026–27, bringing top-flight men’s professional basketball back to the city after an absence of more than a decade.[5]
The M&S Bank Arena gives the project a high-profile home on the waterfront. Its event page describes the Manchester game as a landmark moment and promotes a family-focused afternoon around the basketball.[2]
Liverpool’s inaugural team is led by Roy Rogers, the first head coach in the club’s history. Rogers arrived with extensive NBA coaching experience, including roles with Portland, the LA Clippers, Chicago, Houston, Washington, Brooklyn, Detroit and Boston. Paul Cantwell, previously head coach of Yorkshire Dragons, is part of his staff.[6]
That experience will be important while a new roster establishes its identity away from home. Sunday’s trip to Manchester is now another opportunity to build before the delayed arena debut.
Tickets and viewing information
Supporters considering the 1 November game should check the M&S Bank Arena event page and its linked official ticket platform for current availability.[2]
The 4 October game at Manchester falls under the SLB’s DAZN agreement, which makes Championship games available live and free-to-view, subject to account registration and territorial availability.[7]
Because the schedule has already changed from the original announcement, fixture details should be checked again before travelling.
