Newcastle Eagles Women add Cordasia Harris for 2026/27 season

Cordasia Harris in action for South Alabama before joining Newcastle Eagles Women

Newcastle Eagles Women have continued their 2026/27 roster build by signing American forward Cordasia Harris.

The 6ft 1in frontcourt player joins head coach Chloe Gaynor’s new-look Super League Basketball side after finishing her college career at the University of South Alabama.

Harris spent three seasons at Alabama State before switching to South Alabama for her senior campaign. Newcastle’s announcement says she played 35 games for the Jaguars, averaging 11 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game before graduating this summer.

That production points to the role Newcastle are likely to need from her: interior scoring, rebounding, rim protection and physical presence in a reshaped Eagles Women group.

“The addition of Cordasia to our roster bolsters our interior presence,” Gaynor said in the club announcement.

Harris is the latest name in a busy Eagles Women recruitment run, following recent additions including Nala Williams, Jakayla Johnson and Pollyanna Storie as Newcastle prepare for the new SLB Women campaign.

For Eagles supporters, the signing adds another piece to a squad that is being rebuilt with size and athleticism around the basket. The club will be looking for Harris to adapt quickly to the professional game after a productive NCAA finish.

Newcastle’s women’s programme has been one of the more active stories of the late-summer roster window, and Harris’ arrival gives Gaynor another option as preparations for 2026/27 continue.
