Newcastle Eagles Women have signed NCAA standout Nala Williams for their 2026/27 Women’s Super League Basketball roster.
The 5ft 8in guard begins her professional career on Tyneside after a high-level college career across NCAA Division 2 and Division 1 basketball.
Williams spent three years at Cal State Dominguez Hills, where Newcastle said she scored more than 1,500 points and earned National Player of the Year honours in 2024/25.
She then moved to Division 1 with San Diego State University, adding Mountain West Player of the Year honours to her résumé last season.
Newcastle head coach Chloe Gaynor said via the club that Williams arrives after “a very good career in the NCAA” and highlighted her toughness getting downhill, perimeter shooting and ability to facilitate after averaging four assists per game in her senior campaign.
Williams said she is excited to start her professional career with the Eagles, play in front of fans at the Vertu Arena and compete in the SLB.
The signing gives Newcastle another backcourt option with scoring, playmaking and defensive intensity as Gaynor’s roster continues to take shape for the new campaign.
Williams joins a growing Eagles women’s group for 2026/27, with the club confirming further player announcements will follow as pre-season preparations continue.
